New Vista is an Historical Villa which has had rooms and lounges added to allow us to extend our family.
We have a separate smokers’ lounge for those who require it or there is a beautiful front porch where one can partake in the beautiful peaceful surroundings and have a smoke if they wish. Each resident’s room has its own handbasin. Showers are supervised by caring and well-trained nursing staff.
New Vista is built on one level and has ramps for residents to go freely. All rooms are cleaned and vacuumed daily. Residents are encouraged to bring in personal belongings to assist them to settle into their new environment. Nurse Call Bells are situated in all rooms, toilets, showers, lounges, hallways, etc., to allow for easy assistance.
Regular Church services with an interdenominational Minister and specific religions are available. Rooms are available for married couples or old friends who would love to share. Resident’s phone line is available as well as a mobile phone to allow residents to receive calls quickly and in privacy. Residents are encouraged to continue with any community clubs, or participate in our many various activities and outings.
All residents are medically reviewed and any changes are discussed with themselves and or families. Staff receive ongoing training to continue to allow them to look after you in the best possible way. All our staff are happy to listen and offer comfort and love. A cuddle and a smile can make any day seem brighter.
To access Rest Home Care you need to be assessed. Contact your own GP for a referral or contact the Disability Resource Centre on (Wanganui ph 347 1176) and they will action your enquiry and assist you.
